The original channel note considers the path from a published statistic to the systems and people interpreting it. It asks readers to look beyond the headline to the sequence of distribution and reaction.

Distinguish speed from understanding

The first move after a release and a considered interpretation of that release are different subjects. A market reaction does not explain itself merely because it happened quickly.

A more useful reading habit

Go back to the original release. Check its timestamp, the series being reported and whether revisions are included. Separate what the release says from the story being told about the price response.
